The Father’s Secrets

It is amazing how impatient us humans can be and how we want to know all the details of how and when something is going to take place. We can not wait to find out what God’s plan is and when God finally calls us, we want to know how the journey is going to play out before hand. The disciples wanted to know when Jesus was going to restore the kingdom of God back to Israel, and yet Jesus told them to not worry about it, but rather focus at the task at hand.

“Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.””

‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When we focus at the task at hand and not get distracted by the lesser details, then we can fully allow the Holy Spirit to work in our life. At that moment we can give our fully attention to the details of the ministry and calling that the Lord has called us to without something else pulling at our attention.

This, of course, goes with many things within our life such as finances, problems in the world, crazy people rioting, and Donald Trump’s hair. Jokes aside we need to center our attention on God and His will while giving all the other stuff to Him. No distractions equals full effort and greater results. God is good and all we need to do is trust Him.
